Considering that I have a job now, the time has come to buy suit trousers, shirts and comfy shoes. Out goes my floaty summer dresses and knitted cardigan (well three days a week anyway). 

The only problem? The trousers are too long, so time to try out my (lack of) sewing skills. 

Otherwise, I’m every inch the city professional - except I’m not actually working in the city. Well, the thought was there anyway. 

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

It is now about to take pride of place on the desk upstairs…

I’ve been a little bit AWOL, mainly because of coursework, but also because of my devotion to a new blogging project. 

I’ve set up a fashion/style/beauty blog called British Bohemia. Put simply, it’s part personal and part review site, which I’ve set up both as a hobby (because I’m interested in fashion/beauty) and some media practice (well, incredibly amateur but still). 

So why on earth did I decide to do this? I’ve admired self-published fashion blogs for a while, mostly because they offer intelligence and insight not present in mainstream women’s magazines (who seem to think we’re all obsessed with sex and shoes) and I wanted to join in. That’s the most accurate reason. Also, I like dressing up. I’d say that I lean more towards style than fashion, because my clothing collection is pretty small to be honest! I’m interested in different looks (e.g. casual, smart etc) but not following trends. I’m interested in creating as many different looks with few items. Also, I have a very specific style, which I’d probably describe as bohemian (NOT vintage, as I don’t actually own any authentically vintage clothes). I also blog about beauty because it’s part of the whole style thing, in my view. 

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to recently…writing fiction and blogging about fashion.
